Opal Chrome from
Vinyl Frog is unlike any other finish in the chrome lineup. It does not just reflect light, it plays with it. The surface shifts colors as the angle changes, moving through different hues depending on how the light hits it. One moment it looks one color, a moment later it looks completely different.
That color-shifting effect is what makes opal chrome so hard to ignore. It has the intensity of a
chrome finish but with a depth and movement that standard chrome simply does not have. It is the kind of wrap that makes people stop and look twice because they are not quite sure what they just saw.
It works beautifully as a full wrap on any vehicle, but it also pairs exceptionally well as a partial wrap against a contrasting base color. Either way, the result is something that looks completely custom and one of a kind.
Colors We Offer
We carry opal chrome in two striking options:
-
Opal Chrome White: A futuristic iridescent white that shifts through soft, pearlescent tones as light moves across it. Clean, modern, and unlike anything else on the road
-
Opal Chrome Black: A dark, deep finish with the same color-shifting shimmer underneath. Mysterious and bold, it adds a premium edge to any vehicle
Things to Know Before You Buy
Opal chrome is a non-stretchable film. Because of the delicate nature of the finish, it does not stretch around deep curves the way standard vinyl does. Complex body shapes may require extra care and planning during installation. Professional installation is strongly recommended, and extra care should be taken to avoid contact with abrasive materials during the process.
How Much Does an Opal Chrome Wrap Cost?
A full bumper-to-bumper opal chrome wrap including professional installation runs around $6,000. It sits at the higher end of the chrome range because of the premium materials involved and the extra care required during installation.
The vinyl alone for a full wrap costs under $600 for a 59-foot roll. For partial coverage such as a hood, roof, or accent panels, you can get started for around $100 to $200 depending on the size you need.
